Whiskey Jam Presents Warner Chappell

[portfolio_slideshow]

Whiskey Jam as an event is an experience truly unique to this city. The event combines stars who got their start there with up and coming artists and legendary songwriters at Winner’s bar in Midtown. For me, it is the best way to spend a Monday night – at a great bar, surrounded by people all there for the same reason the: FREE MUSIC.

Last night’s collection of artists was perfect. Whiskey Jam got together with Warner Chappell for a line up exclusively of their artist and writers. Lady Antebellum was announced in the lineup late in the day, and they definitely drew a crowd that not only packed the venue, but extended to a line down the block as well. There were a few standout moments throughout the night for me – on their last song, The Warren Brothers asked if anyone in the audience could sing. They pulled up a girl from one of the first few rows, and she sang Taylor Swift’s part in “Highway Don’t Care.” It was cool to see a duet happen organically like that, and it involved the audience in a really interactive way. Only in Nashville! Later, hearing the entire audience sing Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” back to them was amazing.

I initially attended to hear Parker McCollum and Hunter Phelps specifically, but left the event with other new artists to follow and listen to. Whiskey Jam cultivates a sense of gratitude for living in Music City, a place where music can be found and celebrated any night of the week.
