“Take Me Out” — described by The Dryes as “a call to get out in the sticks, away from the noise, to center yourself in the dirt” — features a hard hitting electric guitar and a catchy pop country melody. To create the most authentic visual component to the tracks concept, the duo took family, friends and fans out to Ol Farm Strawberries — a close friends residence “out in the sticks” near their hometown of Winston-Salem, NC.
“These familiar backroads are the same roads we drove in our high school days,” share The Dryes on the video’s Strawberry Farms location. “We wanted to capture these memories and nostalgia, mixing in performance shots with those involved. We wrote this song at a time when we were cooped up in a small apartment in Nashville, before we bought our first house. This video reminds us of that open air bonfire scenario that we love so much, which is the overarching theme of this EP.”
