Fans of Luke Combs got an extra special treat on Tuesday when he debuted a brand new, unreleased song on Instagram Live. In a recent trend to pass the time while most are self-quarantined due to the Covid-19 outbreak, singers have taken to social media to perform mini concerts for fans. The new song, ‘When It’s Raining’, seems to come at the perfect time, when the world is at a state of uncertainty regarding this global pandemic. Combs says as much when he’s introducing the song, though it was purely coincidental. He was writing at the beach a couple months ago with James McNair and Reid Isbell when Combs’ fiancée Nicole Hocking asked the unassuming question “what do you do when it’s raining?” The answer for Combs was to write a song that can certainly be applied to the times we’re living in right now. Life is like a storm, and sometimes you have to “grab you some whiskey and some place to ride it out,” like the song suggests. If Combs intends to bring the same passion to the studio version as he did to this performance, he’s looking at another surefire hit on his hands.
