Hardy is leveling up in addressing a mental health challenge he’s been facing, and he’s taking a short break from touring to focus on it.
In a Twitter post on Tuesday (Oct. 3), Hardy candidly shared, “I need to be honest with everyone for a moment.” He explained that he continues to grapple with significant stress and anxiety following a bus crash just over a year ago.
After the incident, Hardy received treatment for “significant injuries,” and his close friend, who was the bus driver, required an extended hospital stay to recover. The crash also led to Hardy missing a few show dates last October.
Although the physical wounds have mended, the emotional and mental impact of the serious crash still lingers for the singer.
“I’ve been grappling with severe anxiety since the bus accident last year, and in the past two weeks, it has taken a toll on my daily life,” he revealed. “It’s resulted in numerous panic attacks that have landed me in the hospital. I need some time to focus on self-improvement for the sake of my wife, family, and all of you, my fans.”

This means Hardy will need to cancel two dates on his current Mockingbird & the Crow Tour, named after his latest album. The affected shows are on Oct. 5 and 7. Additionally, his Georgia Rodeo performance will be rescheduled for next April.
“My intention is to return and be fully focused by Oct. 12,” Hardy assured in his statement. The Mockingbird & the Crow Tour is set to resume on that date with a stop in Jonesboro, Ark.
The star added, “Thank you for your understanding. See you soon.”
