Garth Brooks brought a sweet subtlety to his performance of ‘Amazing Grace’ Wednesday morning at the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. In the video above, you can see Brooks wanting to do justice to the hymn that’s been performed countless times on many different occasions. Before finishing the last verse, he called on the audience in person and watching virtually to sing along, promoting unity among all people of all party lines. The performance was almost entirely acapella, with a trumpet introducing the first few bars of the song.
