Dolly Parton Scores The Biggest Album Debut Sales Week Of Her Career With ‘Rockstar’

Dolly Parton, the global icon, has achieved the most significant album debut of her illustrious seven-decade career with her 30-track masterpiece, the Rockstar album, selling an impressive 127,778 units in its first week.

This star-studded project soared to the top, debuting at No. 1 on six different Billboard charts, including Top Rock Albums, Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Country Albums, Top Album Sales, Top Current Album Sales, and Independent Albums charts. Additionally, it claimed the No. 2 spot on Billboard’s Vinyl Albums Tastemaker Albums chart.

Expressing her excitement, Parton exclaimed, “Wow, this is a big thrill! I owe a thank you to the fans who have always been there for me. Their support made this achievement possible. I’d also like to thank my producer Kent Wells, all the wonderful artists, musicians, and engineers who brought their talents to this project.”

Released through Parton’s own Butterfly Records with global distribution by Big Machine Label Group, Rockstar has now joined the ranks of Drake’s “For All The Dogs – Scary Hours Edition” and Taylor Swift’s “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” in the top three overall, marking Parton’s highest position on the all-genre list.

Notably, Rockstar stands as Parton’s most impressive debut week and largest sales week in three decades, since 1993’s Platinum-selling “Slow Dancing With The Moon,” which recorded 50,000 units in its second chart week. Achieving a No. 1 debut on the Billboard Country Albums chart, the album secures Parton’s 48th top 10 entry on the chart, extending her record for the most top 10 albums by a female artist. It also extends her streak of No. 1 albums on the chart to an astonishing 46 years, starting with 1977’s “Here You Come Again” up to the present.

The Rock & Roll and Country Music Hall of Famer once again captivated global attention with her halftime performance at the Dallas Cowboys Red Kettle Kickoff game on Thanksgiving Day. Her participation contributed to the game becoming the third most-viewed regular-season game in NFL history, with a peak viewership of 44 million.
