CMT revealed their Next Women of Country Class of 2020 on Tuesday at their 7th annual event, which was held at the CMA Theater at the Country Music Hall of Fame. The 11 artists joining the prestigious Next Women roster are: Abbey Cone, Avenue Beat, Caylee Hammack, Gabby Barrett, Hailey Whitters, Kylie Morgan, Madison Kozak, Renee Blair, Sykamore, Tiera and Walker County. The announcement was made by event co-hosts Leslie Fram, SVP, Music Strategy & Talent, CMT, and country music superstar Martina McBride.

The class was split into two groups at the event, each performed two rounds. Opening up the show was Mickey Guyton and an array of Next Women of Country alumni; including Clare Dunn, Leah Turner, Rachel Wammack and Tenille Townes, with a performance of Guyton’s “Sister.”

Although all of the women delivered great performances, some notable standouts among the class were: Sykamore, who performed California King a song about a boy and his ego. Tiera, who found herself inside of the love she found in him. And Kylie Morgan, whose distinctive, raspy voice ads to her lyrics and leaves you wanting more.

The legendary Tanya Tucker made an appearance at the event, announcing that she will headline the CMT Next Women of Country Tour in 2020.
