CMT Music Awards Nominees Announced

Nominees for the 2020 CMT Music Awards were announced Wednesday. This awards show, which rewards excellence in country music videos and televised performances, is the only completely fan-voted show in country music. Dan + Shay, Luke Combs, Ashley McBryde, Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett, and Sam Hunt all tied for the lead with three nominations apiece. The Video of the Year category is starting off with 14 nominees that will be narrowed down to five once voting for all other awards closes on October 12 at 12 p.m. ET. Fans can then vote until October 16 among the final five Video of the Year nominees. The awards are set to air on October 21 at 8 p.m. ET on its home network of CMT, as well as airing on MTV, MTV2, Paramount Network, Pop, Logo and TV Land. VIDEO OF THE YEAR

Best video of the year; awarded to the artist (male, female, group/duo or collaboration) and the video director. Final nominees announced on 10/12, with final voting held until 10/16 and announced in-show.
