Carrie Underwood Shows Off Bilingual Skills in ‘Tears of Gold’ Video

This is a massive week for Carrie Underwood! Not only does her very first Christmas special premiere Thursday on HBO Max, but she also dropped a brand-new collaboration that most would find unexpected. She joins Spanish singer David Bisbal on the bilingual track ‘Tears of Gold,’ complete with an Armageddon-like music video. The lyrics point to the end of a relationship that both parties don’t want to end, but they know it’s right. They loved each other through the end, which is apparent when they say that each other is beautiful even when they are crying. Underwood definitely holds her own on the Spanish pre-chorus. For those of you who don’t speak the language, the lyrics translate to But if you go/my life is not life if you are not here/My last breath you will take away/If you are not there it will be impossible to continue. The song and video are so breathtaking that it takes multiple views just to appreciate every facet of its brilliance. This is definitely a potential crossover smash hit that could be on par with ‘Despacito’. Watch the video above and let us know if you would be open to hearing more Spanish in Underwood’s future projects.
