Carrie Underwood, John Legend Drop Ethereal ‘Hallelujah’ Visual

Carrie Underwood on Thursday released the music video for ‘Hallelujah’, her duet with EGOT recipient and current The Voice coach John Legend, off her first-ever Christmas album ‘My Gift’. The opening shots before the music begins give a very Chronicles of Narnia meets Game of Thrones vibe. The majority of the video finds Underwood and Legend crooning at a piano, dressed in their finest formal attire. Intertwined among scenes of the two superstars are snow falling around Christmas trees and people gathering with candles lit. As the video progresses, the people and even Underwood herself fade away, inferring that these beings are not real. One particular visual seems to represent the gates of Heaven, which seems to assume that all the people in the video are crossing over to the afterlife. Regardless of the symbolism, this is a breathtaking video worthy of a wonderful song. What is your reaction to both this song and video?
