Brett Eldredge is back with our first taste of his new music in two years. ‘Gabrielle’ is a retro, bouncy tune about what might have happened if he made it work with the titular woman. His vocal performance isn’t very somber until the bridge, indicating this is more of a case of curiosity rather than heartbreak. Sonically, it’s a departure from his previous radio singles, embodying more of a old-school Elton John or Lionel Richie vibe than what he’s used to. This may work in his favor, as I found myself enjoying it more than his other recent tracks. Give ‘Gabrielle’ a listen here.
