The Jennifer Hudson Show

GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician Brandy Clark is featured on today’s episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show” speaking with the host. Watch the interview HERE.
The appearance adds to a triumphant year for Clark, who won Best Americana Performance at this year’s 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards for her song, “Dear Insecurity,” featuring 10x GRAMMY-winner Brandi Carlile—Clark’s first GRAMMY win. Clark also performed the song during the GRAMMY Premiere Ceremony, accompanied by SistaStrings (watch HERE).
“Dear Insecurity” is from Clark’s self-titled album, which was produced by Carlile and features Clark’s most personal songwriting to date (Warner Records, stream/purchase here). Released to overwhelming critical acclaim, the record landed on several “Best of 2023” lists including NPR Music, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Los Angeles Times, Variety and Forbes, who calls the album “an Americana Masterpiece.” Additionally, the Los Angeles Times praises, “one of Nashville’s craftiest and most meticulous storytellers,” while Variety declares, “further clarifies that she’s one of America’s treasures,” and Billboard proclaims, “Clark continues to convey her inexorable talents as both a song-crafter and vocal interpreter.”
Known for her powerful live performances, Clark will continue to tour through this spring including headline shows at Birmingham’s The Lyric Theatre, Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse, Wilmington’s Brooklyn Arts Center, Charlottesville’s Jefferson Theater and Alexandria’s The Birchmere (sold out) among many others. She will also kick off a special co-headline tour with Hayes Carll next month. See below for complete itinerary.
In addition to Clark and Carlile, the album also includes special guests Derek Trucks and Lucius as well as Matt Chamberlain on drums, Sebastian Steinberg on bass, Dave Palmer on piano, Jedd Hughes on guitar, Kyleen King on viola, Josh Neumann on cello, Sista Strings (aka Monique and Chauntee Ross) on cello and violin, Steve Fishell on pedal steel and Jay Carlile on background vocals and harmonica.
