Last week Zac Brown Band released a new single entitled, “You and Islands.” The moment you hear this song your thoughts get swept away in daydreaming about the peaceful sound of waves and having an iced cold drink in your hand. The intro to this song has an acoustic guitar playing double stops and instantly you know “this song is going to be about a beach.” The band’s signature harmonies are alive and well in this song in addition to the beach beat in the background. It is the type of song that you can picture listening to while sitting on a bar stool, at a tiki bar, on an island, with a fun mixed drink in your hand, flirting with the person next to you. This song offers its audience hope and positivity in these unprecedented times. The band takes you away from reality and brings you to a beautiful island and reminisces the “good times.” It offers something to look forward to for when times improve and we can all get back to the beach.
