Kenny Chesney is officially kicking off a new chapter with the arrival of his highly anticipated 21st studio album, Silver Sands Marina, and he’s bringing fans along for the ride.
The country music superstar took over New York City’s TODAY Plaza for a special performance as part of the “TODAY” Citi Concert Series, where devoted fans gathered from across the country to celebrate the new music. Some supporters began lining up before midnight, traveling from states including Maine, New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina, and beyond.
Chesney delivered a five-song set featuring the live debut of “Goldfish,” the album’s title track, and “Carry On,” giving fans an early taste of what’s ahead.
“It’s been three years since I put out a record, and we’ve got new music to play,” Chesney said. “This has been such a creative time for me and the band, and we’re loving every moment.”
The excitement continues tonight with the world premiere of an animated “Goldfish” music video during Chesney’s second TalkShopLive appearance at 7:30 p.m. Eastern. The animated clip features cameos from Poncho and Da Ruba Girl.
“I figured if we’ve got the band in place, we might as well open it up,” Chesney said of the TODAY performance. “To play these songs for the people, to feel the energy and see how they light people up is what it’s all about.”
With “Carry On” climbing the charts and his 2027 Original Vibe Room Tour on the horizon, Chesney is building momentum for another major year of country music.
