The 56th Annual ACM Awards have found its hosts. On Thursday, it was announced that Keith Urban and Mickey Guyton would be co-hosting this year’s ceremony, once again to be held from three historic sites in Nashville. This will be Urban’s second straight year hosting the show, while it will be Guyton’s first.

This is not the first time Guyton and Urban have taken the ACM stage together. Urban provided piano accompaniment to Guyton during last year’s performance of her powerful song ‘What Are You Gonna Tell Her?’, which earned rave reviews.

“I am beyond thrilled to be co-hosting with my friend Mickey. I love that everyone will get to see her infectious energy and uber creative spirit in full light” Urban said of the announcement. Guyton echoed that statement by saying “last year I had the opportunity to perform at the Academy of Country Music Awards with someone I long admired, Keith Urban, and this year I am incredibly excited to share hosting duties with him.”

This will be the first time in the show’s history that a Black artist will be taking on hosting duties, a feat not lost on Guyton. “As I’ve said before, ‘if you can see it, you can be it.’ And it’s such an honor as the first ever Black woman to host the show.” Guyton continued by saying, “Over the years, the Academy of Country Music has always been a home for me through opportunities both onstage and throughout their work on diversity and inclusion. This is a moment of great significance for me and I’m so thrilled to share it with all the fans.”

Urban is a fifteen-time ACM Award winner, whose latest win came in 2018 when he took home the night’s top honor, Entertainer of the Year. This year he is a double nominee in the Music Event of the Year category as an artist and producer of ‘One Too Many’, his collaboration with P!nk, as well as for his contribution on ‘Be A Light’ with Thomas Rhett, Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott of Lady A and Chris Tomlin. Guyton is nominated this year for her second ACM Award in the New Female Artist of the Year category, an award she was previously nominated for in 2015.

The 56th Annual ACM Awards will broadcast on CBS on Sunday April 18th at 8 p.m. ET. Are you excited for this year’s hosts? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
