Reviver Records artist and Saskatchewan native Tenille Arts made her home country proud delivering a beautiful rendition of “O Canada” leading up to Game 3 of the 2019 NBA Finals presented by YouTube TV last night at Oracle Arena in Oakland. Tenille’s performance was followed by Metallica’s James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett’s instrumental version of the U.S. national anthem, and both aired live on ABC in the U.S. and on Sportsnet in Canada. The Toronto Raptors beat the Golden State Warriors and now lead the series 2-1.
“It was such an incredible moment to be able to sing the Canadian anthem then have Metallica follow it with their amazing version of the U.S. anthem,” said Tenille. “Meeting them, and this entire night, is something I will never forget!”
CityNews Toronto caught up with Tenille immediately after the game, and the interview can be viewed here.
