New year, new record deal for the Hot Country Knights.
On Thursday, January 2nd, Universal Music Group (UMG) Nashville took to Twitter to announce that the ‘90s-inspired country dream team is officially part of the “UMG family.” What that means exactly? We’re not sure, since the band exclusively sings covers from country music greats such as Alan Jackson, Clint Black, and the only person they follow on Twitter, Travis Tritt. But, maybe an album full of recreated covers is exactly what country music needs in this new year?!
The band is made up of lead singer Douglas “Doug” Douglason (aka. Dierks Bentley), steel guitarist Barry van Ricky, bassist Trevor Travis, drummer Monte Montgomery, guitarist Marty Ray “Rayro” Roburn, and keytar and fiddle play Terotej “Terry” Dvoraczekynski. Armed with acid jeans and mullets, these six sure know how to throw a party.
Here’s to plenty of “Hot Country Knights” in 2020!
