I had a few mins to sit with Luke Combs before his Sold Out show and ask him for some insight into his new album “What You See Is What You Get”
Question 1: What’s your favorite song coming out on your new album and why?
Luke joked that it was hard to pick just 1 out of the 17 coming out on his new album, just like it was hard to narrow it down to 17 in the first place. But he ultimately landed on “Better Together” which is the last song on the album. He told his VIB’s that it’s unlike any song on the album because it’s just him and a piano. Nothing else.
Question 2: Dead or alive, what’s the one artist you’d like to work with?
Without hesitation Luke answers: Merle Haggard.
Question 3: Who is your favorite songwriter you like working with?
Luke rattled off a long list of names, but the first name mentioned was Ray Fulcher. Fulcher is a singer and songwriter, who also happens to live in Luke’s guest house down the road. Luke joked that it’s convenient because anytime he wants to write a song, he just goes knocking on Ray’s door.
Luke’s new album, What You See Is What You Get, won’t be available until November 8th, but you can get 6 (!!!) songs right now, including Beer Never Broke My Heart and Even Though I’m Leaving and more by clicking here to pre order and stream 6 now.
