CMT’s ‘2019 Artists of the Year’ announced

For the tenth year, CMT will honor five memorable acts in country music who have ruled the charts and radio waves for the past twelve months. This year’s CMT Artists of the Year include: Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett, Luke Combs, Kane Brown and Dan + Shay.

Although this is Underwood’s fifth time being honored and Rhett’s second, it’s a first for rising country music acts Kane Brown, Luke Combs and Dan + Shay.
The star-studded evening is sure to be packed with tribute performances, collaborations and guest appearances. But, there will be one notable absence from that night from the only female to make the list, Carrie Underwood.

As many know, Underwood just kicked off the second leg of her Cry Pretty 360 Tour, along with Opening acts Maddie & Tae and Runaway June, so she will be on the road during the big night. But, fear not – she will be giving a live-streamed performance during the broadcast from her tour stop in Cleveland, Ohio.

Don’t forget to tune in! The 90-minute live special will be broadcast live from Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center on October 16th at 8:00 p.m.
